ANNOUNCEMENT – IMPORT AND EXPORT PERMITS
Every consignment must be inspected by a Quarantine Inspector
Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ)- Division of Agriculture. APRIL 25th , 2016
The Division of Agriculture’s Plant Protection and Quarantine Services wishes to remind exporters and importers of agricultural produce of the following:
Importers. You
1. Must apply for and receive an Import Permit five (5) working days prior to the arrival of the consignment.
2. Consignments MUST be free of pests, properly packaged and accompanied by a Phytosanitary Certificate. This certificate is valid for only one consignment.
Exporters. You
1. Should apply and obtain a valid Import Permit from the country to which they are exporting.
2. Produce should be clean, free of pests, and packaged in Approved Fresh Produce Boxes for export
3. Every consignment must meet the requirements of the Importing country
4. Every consignment must be inspected by a Quarantine Inspector who will then issue a Phytosanitary Certificate
